

A boarding hostel for girls was started in Chettipeta in 1890 for under privileged girls and orphans. In 1954 under the guidance of Miss E.Joyce Harding the hostel was moved from Chettipeta to a more spacious compound in Nidadavole and it was named Hebron Hostel and at present has 325 disadvantaged girls. Unfortunately Joyce passed away in early 2010.The Superintendent of Hebron Hostel and the principal of Hermon School is Mrs. Jennie Grace Prabhakar. She has faithfully run the Hostel and School for the last 16 years. At Hebron Hostel girls receive Food, Clothing, Education, Medical Treatment as required and are well cared for by the faithful staff whose salaries are covered by the sponsorship programme. Children with disabilities receive special attention. Some of the girls go on for further training after obtaining their school certificate in Multi Purpose Health work, General Nursing, Information Computer Technology, Teaching and Tailoring, in various towns.
